We are an IRS-filed 501(c)(3) organization and are not owned by any individual or company. Palmetto Goodwill is governed by a local volunteer board of directors, and 100% of our profits are reinvested back into our mission, providing life-changing support for thousands of South Carolinians each year.

While the Goodwill brand is recognized internationally, it is made up of more than 150 independent, community-based organizations, each locally run and staffed by local people. Palmetto Goodwill is headquartered in North Charleston, South Carolina, and serves 18 counties across four regions: Charleston Tri-County, Grand Strand, Lower Midlands, and Lower Savannah.

Palmetto Goodwill employs over 1,400 team members, and the revenue generated from our retail stores directly funds mission services that strengthen our communities.
In 2025 alone, Palmetto Goodwill connected more than 16,000 South Carolinians with training, career resources, supportive services, and pathways to economic mobility – and supported over 4,200 individuals in securing competitive employment through our 11 Opportunity Centers.
