Stanley Tribble — Building a New Future Through I-CAN

September 14, 2026

Stanley Tribble is building a new future through I-CAN with stable employment, renewed purpose and a commitment to encouraging others. At 70 years old, Stanley brings warmth, positivity and a steady presence to the Palmetto Goodwill Conway store.

Building a New Future Through I-CAN

Following two years in county prison and five years of probation, Stanley devoted years to rebuilding family relationships while navigating barriers to steady employment. After the painting company where he had worked for six years closed, Stanley found himself searching for a new opportunity. That is when he enrolled in Palmetto Goodwill’s I-CAN Program, a paid skills training program for justice-involved individuals. I-CAN connected Stanley with guidance, reassurance and job-search resources as he took the next steps toward stability.

Following Stanley’s graduation from I-CAN on December 27, 2025, he joined the production team at Palmetto Goodwill’s Conway store, where his dependability, upbeat outlook and readiness to assist coworkers quickly stood out. He brings gratitude to each shift and often writes poems for the I-CAN Success Coach team as a heartfelt expression of appreciation.

For Stanley, the impact reaches far beyond securing a job. He now draws on lessons from his past to inspire people working to change their own lives.

Encouraging Others by Example

Stanley has become a trusted mentor and source of motivation for his fellow team members. He says he feels like a team captain to his coworkers, encouraging others and helping create a supportive, family environment at the Conway store. He is especially passionate about motivating other I-CAN participants as they work toward their own goals.

Stanley’s commitment to helping others extends beyond the workplace. He ministers at the correctional facility where he was once incarcerated, using his experiences to encourage others and show them what is possible through perseverance. He also refers individuals to Palmetto Goodwill so they can access the support and opportunities that helped him move forward.

Conway Store Manager, Chelsy Biggerstaff, shares:

“Mr. Stanley exemplifies Palmetto Goodwill’s I-CARE core values and ACE culture. Through his exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, commitment to excellence and dedication to providing an Amazing Customer Experience, he has become the example of how to be an asset to our team.”

Moving Forward with Gratitude and Purpose

In December 2025, Stanley shared his experience with Palmetto Goodwill’s Board of Directors and spoke about the difference I-CAN made in his life. With the support of his wife, his family and the Conway retail team, Stanley has found stable employment, renewed purpose and an opportunity to help others succeed.

Today, Stanley is a shining example of what the I-CAN program is all about. His journey of building a new future through I-CAN reflects the power of a fresh start, meaningful employment and choosing to move forward with gratitude and determination. More than anything, Stanley is showing what a second chance in life looks like.
