Heather White – Rising Strong Through Courage, Recovery, and New Opportunity

April 1, 2026

For more than two decades, Heather White fought a battle that few could truly see. Addiction pulled her through repeated incarceration, profound loss, and moments when hope felt impossibly distant. But even in her hardest chapters, Heather never let go of the possibility that her story could change. Today, she stands as a powerful reminder that transformation is real – and that with the right support, anyone can rise.

A Turning Point Toward Healing and Hope

Heather’s turning point began when she entered the Horry County Treatment Court, a program designed to support individuals navigating substance use and mental health challenges. The structure, accountability, and compassion she found there gave her something she hadn’t felt in years: direction.

At the same time, Heather enrolled in the Palmetto Goodwill I‑CAN program, where she began rebuilding not just her skills, but her confidence. Through hands‑on training, wraparound support, and paid on‑the‑job experience, she started to see herself as capable – someone with talent, potential, and purpose. Heather completed the I-CAN Program in December 2025 and in April 2026, she will officially graduate, marking a milestone that represents far more than completion. It symbolizes her strength, her healing, and her decision to reclaim her life.

Growing Skills & Rebuilding Confidence

Heather quickly proved herself to be a standout talent. She became one of Palmetto Goodwill’s top eight bar coders, consistently performing at the highest levels across the company. Even when she experienced a setback, she didn’t break – she reset, refocused, and returned with an even deeper determination. Her persistence reflects a powerful truth: recovery isn’t about perfection, but about rising every time you fall.

Giving Back: A Vision to Support Women Reentering Society

One of Heather’s greatest goals today is to help others rise with her. She is working to launch Hanging on to Hope – a warm, judgment‑free space where women coming home from incarceration can find clean, professional clothing for interviews, work, and everyday life. Her vision is rooted in empathy; she knows firsthand how vulnerable those first steps back into society can feel, and she wants to give women what she once needed: dignity, confidence, and encouragement.

A Standout Member of the Little River Store Team

At the Little River Store, Heather is known not just for what she’s overcome, but for who she is today.

Store Manager Susan Viverette shares:

“She is doing well and is a great team member and a great communicator. Her production numbers are very good. In March alone, she ranked #3 in the company, processing more than 13,000 pieces.”

Her colleagues see her as reliable, hardworking, and deeply committed. Heather shows up every day with a growth mindset that inspires those around her.

Moving Forward with Purpose

Heather’s journey has taken her from hardship to hope, from surviving to truly living. She is a reminder that change is possible at any moment, and that every person deserves a chance to begin again. With courage, compassion, and unwavering determination, she is building a future defined not by where she has been, but by where she is going.

Heather isn’t just rebuilding her life.
She is creating a new one – one choice, one step, one act of courage at a time.
