2. Upskill for Civilian Life: Free Training Pathways
Your experience is valuable, but modern credentials are the key to high-demand jobs. The PWC provides access to high-value, no-cost training pathways active from 2023–2025:
Digital Credentials for High-Wage Careers
Qualified veterans and spouses can enroll in free Google Coursera Professional Certificate courses. This training is ideal for disabled and senior veterans seeking less physically demanding roles :
- IT Support, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity: Gain foundational tech skills needed by modern employers.
- Project Management: Translate your military leadership and logistics experience directly into an industry-recognized credential.
- Flexibility: All courses are self-paced and accessible online, perfect for balancing training with family or health needs.
Skilled Trades and Infrastructure
We also provide pathways into essential trades careers:
- STAR Program – Fiber Optics: Enroll in this short-term, specialized training to launch a career in the fiber optics cabling industry, even with minimal prior technical experience.
- Essential Certifications: Training covers valuable credentials such as OSHA 10 Construction, First Aid, and CPR.

PWC clients—including senior and disabled veterans—utilize their access to free digital certifications to gain in-demand tech skills for remote and less physically demanding careers.
3. Stability, Accommodation, and Resources
Palmetto Goodwill recognizes that job security starts with life stability. PWC actively partners with community organizations to address urgent needs, specifically for unhoused or disabled veterans.
Housing and Crisis Intervention
- Housing Stability Partnerships: Palmetto Goodwill operates the VA Community Resource and Referral Center (VA CRRC) in partnership with the VA Medical Center, serving as a vital hub for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
- Resource Connection: Your Success Coach provides referrals for housing assistance (through partners like One80 Place SSVF), financial literacy planning, and utility assistance.
Supported Employment: The AbilityOne Program
We are committed to helping disabled veterans overcome employment barriers. Our Business Services division is a proud partner in the AbilityOne Program, which is one of the largest employment providers for individuals with disabilities in the U.S.

Internal Supported Employment: Through AbilityOne, we manage multiple government and commercial contract sites, offering full-time and part-time job opportunities (Custodial, Food Service, etc.) designed for supported accommodation.

Employment secured through the AbilityOne Program provides veterans with stable jobs in industrial operations and accommodations tailored to their needs.
